Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is an intense exfoliation process that rejuvenates the skin and can remove dead and flaking skin cells to create an immediate improvement. This unique approach exfoliates the skin, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, which will result in firmer, more youthful looking skin over time with a series of treatments. Known as the "lunch-time peel", this exciting new procedure can be used to treat fine lines, acne, hyper-pigmentation, sun damage, and scars in under an hour, with no recovery time!

Age spots and fine lines are greatly diminished, acne scars can become less obvious, and many patients report that their skin feels softer, smoother, and younger-looking. Improvement continues throughout your treatment program. You will begin to notice visible results after about the third treatment. In conjunction with a supervised skin care regimen, your skin will achieve and maintain a healthy look and feel.

The Procedure

This procedure is performed under the direct supervision of our Medical Director. In as little as 30 minutes, this gentle abrasive technique efficiently produces satisfying results.. Treatments are most effective when treated on a weekly basis.

Recovery from Microdermabrasion

Mild redness can be expected for a couple of hours following treatment, however make-up can hide this very easily. No anesthetics or pain medication are required.

Chemical Peels

What is a Chemical Peel?

Chemical peels are a category of advanced clinical skin rejuvenation treatments that aid in reversing damaged skin due to factors such as aging, sun exposure and acne.

Who are candidates for Chemical Peels?

Clients who have facial blemishes, wrinkles and uneven skin pigmentation are candidates.

What are the types of Chemical Peels?

We offer two levels of Chemical Peels ranging in intensity and strength:

Alphahydroxy Acids (AHA) These are the mildest form of Chemical Peels and provide smoother, brighter-looking skin. AHA peels may be used for treating fine lines, areas of dryness and pigmentation problems. AHA can be mixed with bleaching creams to correct pigment problems, and it can be used as a pre-treatment for the TCA peel. The peels’ ingredients originate from glycolic, lactic and fruit acids.

Trichloracetic Acids (TCA) This type is a medium-depth peeling system that may be performed in different variations. Fine surface wrinkles, superficial blemishes and pigmentation problems are commonly treated with this type of Chemical Peel. More than one TCA peel may be needed to achieve desired results, but the recovery time is shorter than with a Phenol treatment.

How many treatments are required?

Multiple treatments are common with certain Chemical Peels:

Alphahydroxy Acids Various levels of AHA peels can be performed weekly or at longer intervals.

Trichloracetic Acids This peel is more intense and two to three TCA peels are usually performed to achieve desired results.

Are Chemical Peels safe?

Chemical Peels are safe, but each treatment has different side effects. Some AHA peels may cause irritation, flaking and soreness.

Will there be any downtime?

There is no downtime with AHA Chemical Peels. A TCA peel may cause redness and swelling, and a mild pain medication may be prescribed by a physician.

What are the results?

Alphahydroxy Acids The results from this Chemical Peel may be very subtle at first. You will detect a natural, healthy glow to your skin, and with multiple treatments, even better results can be seen.

Trichloracetic Acids Skin will be noticeably smoother and fresher-looking. Results are longer-lasting than an AHA peel.

Who should avoid Chemical Peels?

Clients with cold sores or sensitive skin may be at a greater risk for post-treatment complications.

Chemical Peels at a glance:

Alphahydroxy Acids (AHA)

AHA peels are used to smooth rough, dry skin, improve texture of sun damaged skin and aid in control of acne. AHA can be mixed with bleaching creams to correct pigment problems, and it can be used as a pre-treatment for the TCA peel. A series of peels may be needed.

Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA)

TCA peels smooth out fine surface wrinkles, remove superficial blemishes and corrects pigment problems. These peels may require pre-treatment with Retin-A or AHA creams. Additional treatments may be needed to maintain results. The healing process is usually quick.

Cosmetic Botox

Horizontal forehead wrinkles, frown lines, and crow's feet are the result of overactive muscles of facial expression. These cause chronic wrinkling of the skin that are often noticeable even after the muscles have relaxed. The result is an aged, sometimes angry look. Previously surgical interventions (such as Endoscopic Forehead Lift) was the only alternative. Fortunately, a new less expensive, in office procedure can correct this problem.

Almost all patients are pleased with the results from BOTOX treatment. Dr. Williams uses the recommended amount of BOTOX in each site for the best results. The results rival surgery at a fraction of the time and cost. However, unlike Endoscopic Forehead Lift Surgery, the results last for about 4-6 months and repeat injections are necessary. Regardless, BOTOX is an excellent way to achieve facial rejuvenation with little or no down time.

BOTOX call also effectively treat perspiration of the armpit area paralyzing the sweat glands by interfering with neurotransmitters and relaxing muscles. The armpits are noticeably drier following treatment. This treatment is offered as a cosmetic procedure and will not be filed with your insurance provider.

Procedure

The procedure is performed in the office and only takes a few minutes. Minute amounts of BOTOX are precisely injected into the forehead, area in between the eyebrows and the crow's feet, to selectively relax the muscles causing the wrinkles. There is minimal discomfort and no anesthesia is needed. A topical numbing cream can be used to minimize discomfort, but is seldom needed.

Recovery from BOTOX Injections

The recovery is immediate. Sometimes a small amount of bruising can occur, but is rare. Patients are asked to refrain from lying down for 4 hours and to avoid touching the area for days after treatment. Slight redness of the injected site can present for a couple of hours, however, make-up can be applied immediately. Many patients choose to have BOTOX injected during their lunch hour, or early in the morning before work. The full effect of BOTOX is seen after 5-7 days. Patients are asked to work the muscles injected to facilitate the effects of BOTOX.

Making a Decision

We offer a personalized consultation to provide education, assistance in determining the most appropriate recommendations and assistance with the financial investment, and can often provide treatment during this visit if you desire. Please contact out patient consultant, to schedule your visit.

Laser Hair Removal

What is Laser Hair Removal?

Laser Hair Removal is a quick, non-invasive way to permanently reduce unwanted hair.

How does the treatment work?

The area to be treated is cleansed and shaved. A topical numbing cream may be applied. The technician scans the treatment area with the laser, which emits a specific wavelength that passes harmlessly through skin and into the hair follicle. The follicle is heated and damaged, putting an end to hair growth.

How many treatments are required?

Hair growth can only be affected during the growth cycle. Several sessions are required to destroy all hair follicles.

Is Laser Hair Removal safe?

Laser Hair Removal is a common, quick and safe procedure. A variety of lasers have been FDA approved for hair reduction. Atlanta Rejuvenation Concepts is proud to use the Lumenis One system.

Are there any possible side effects?

You may experience stinging, mild swelling and pigmentation changes immediately after treatment. These effects are temporary, as are the rare appearance of blisters and lesions. Scarring and the activation of viral infections, such as herpes and shingles, may occur if you are already predisposed. For this reason, you must give a complete medical history before treatment.

Will there be any downtime?

No, you may return to your normal routine immediately.

What are the benefits of Laser Hair Removal over other treatments?

Laser Hair Removal is fast and has long term results. Other hair reduction methods must either be done often or hair by hair.

What can be expected post-treatment?

The area may be red and swollen immediately after treatment. You can return to your normal schedule, but keep out of the sun and use sunscreen. Over the next few weeks your hair will appear to grow as it falls out.

How soon will results appear?

Results are revealed as your hair goes through its normal cycles. By six months, you should have an idea of how much hair has been reduced.

How long does a Laser Hair Removal treatment last?

The procedure may take anywhere from minutes to hours depending on the size of the area to be treated.

What conditions respond best to this treatment?

Laser Hair Removal works best on those with darker hair than skin tone.

Who are candidates for Laser Hair Removal?

With the newest lasers, individuals of all skin and hair types can be treated.

Who should avoid Laser Hair Removal?

If you have a history of keloid formation, excessive scarring or poor healing, you may not be right for this treatment. Tattoos and permanent makeup can be altered by Laser Hair Removal. This treatment cannot be performed in areas with open sores, lesions or infections.

What are the alternative treatments?

Traditional methods of hair removal include shaving, plucking, waxing, depilatory creams and electrolysis.

Is additional treatment necessary?

Yes, several sessions are required to achieve a consistent hairless effect.

What are the limitations of Laser Hair Removal?

Certain lasers work on melanin, so their use is limited to people with hair darker than skin tone. Using new technology, however, Renewed Image can now offer Laser Hair Removal to clients with lighter hair!

Instructions prior to treatment:
